Take off on one of the greatest adventures of a lifetime - learn to fly. You'll extend your horizons, find new challenges, and add a whole lot of fun to your life, all the while traveling farther, higher, and faster than you ever have before. You can start at any age, although you must be 16 to solo and 17 to get a pilot certificate. You can earn your certificate in as little as a few months - flying between 40 and 70 hours in the process, about half of which will be solo. But many people take more time than that - and some learn faster, by flying three or four times a week rather than once every week or two.
Your training comprises two parts - flight training and ground training. During your ground training, you'll learn bits of "book knowledge" you'll need to be a proficient pilot. You have several options for ground training, but the goal is to successfully complete your aviation written test and become a safe and competent pilot.
Flight training takes place in the airplane. You'll learn the skills and gain experience to safely operate an airplane on your own - and pass your check ride.
Cessna's CBI program is the only integrated flight-training system in existence. Integrated means that both the ground and flight training segments are "paired" so that retention rates are higher and learning is faster. That means you'll learn quickly and efficiently.
